ANAGYRIS, in botany, a genus of the decandria monogynia class. This plant has a papilionaceous vexillum, the ala of which are shorter than the carina. The capsule is a legumen. There is only one species of anagyris, viz. the fetida, a native of Spain, Sicily, and Italy. The leaves are said to be laxative, and the seeds emetic.
