ANTHYLLUS, in botany, a genus of the diadelphia decandria class. The calix is ventricose, and the legumen is roundish. There are 10 species of anthyllus, viz. the tetraphylla, montana, cornicina, lotoides, barba jovis, heterophylla, cyrtoides, hermaniae, and erimacea, all natives of Spain, Italy, and the southern parts of Europe; and the vulneraria, kidney-veitch, or lady's finger, a native of Britain.
