ARABIS, in botany, a genus of the tetradymania siliquosa class. The generic mark is taken from four nectariferous glands which lie on the inside of each leaf of the calix. There are eight species of arabis, none of which are natives of Britain, except the thaliana, or coded mouse-ear.
