BLÆRIA, in botany, a genus of the tetrandria monogynia class. The calix is divided into four segments, as also the corolla; the stamens are inserted into the receptacle; and the capsule has four cells, containing many seeds. There is but one species, viz. the cricoides, a native of the cape of Good Hope.
