BUCHNERA, in botany, a genus of the didynamia angiospermia class. The calix has five teeth; the corolla is divided into five equal heart-shaped segments; and the capsule is bilocular. There are three species, viz. The americana, a native of Canada and Virginia; the asiatica, a native of Ceylon and China; and the africana, a native of Ethiopia.
