BUDDLEIA, in botany, a genus of the tetrandria monogynia class. The calix and corolla are each divided into four parts; the stamens are inserted into the receptacle; the capsule has four cells, and contains many seeds. The species are two, viz. the occidentalis, and americana, both natives of America.
