BUENOS-AYRES, one of the most considerable Spanish ports on the east coast of South America, situated on the southern shore of the river Plata, and about fifty leagues from its mouth; and yet here the river is full seven leagues broad: W. long. 60^{\circ}, S. lat. 36^{\circ}. It is a strong fortified town.
