ADAMITES, in church history, a name sometimes used for the descendants of Adam by Seth, who are more usually called Sethites. But the name Adamites is more particularly used, by ecclesiastical writers, for a sect of ancient heretics, who took upon them to imitate the nakedness of Adam, and pretended to be re-inflated in his original innocence.
