CHRYSOSPLENUM, in botany, a genus of the decandria digynia class. The calix is divided into four or five coloured segments; it has no corolla; and the capsule has two beaks, and one cell containing many seeds. The species are two, viz. the alternifolium, or alternate leaved golden faxifrage; and the oppositifolium, or common golden-faxifrage; both natives of Britain.
