CISSAMPELOS, in botany, a genus of the diccia monadelphia class. The calix of the male has four leaves; the corolla is wanting; the nectarium is rotated; and the stamens are four connected together. The calix of the female consists of one ligulated roundish leaf; it has no corolla; the styli are three; and the fruit is a berry containing one seed. There are three species, all natives of America.
