CYCLAMEN, or SOW-BREAD, in botany, a genus of the pentandra monogynia class. The corolla is rotated and reflected; the tube is very short, with a prominent fauce; and the berry is covered with a capsule. There are two species, none of them natives of Britain. The root is a powerful aperient and abstergent.
