DAMAN

DAMAN, a port-town of the hither India, in the province of Guzurat or Cambay, situated on the west coast, about eighty miles south of Surat, in $72^\{\backslash circ\}\; 20\text{'}$ E. long. and $20^\{\backslash circ\}$ N. lat. It is subject to the Portuguese.
