DORIC DIALECT, one of the five dialects, or manners of speaking which were principally in use among the Greeks.
It was first used by the Lacedemonians, particularly those of Argos; afterwards it passed into Epirus, Lybia, Sicily, and the islands of Rhodes, Crete, &c.
