FORAMEN, in anatomy, a name given to several apertures or perforations in divers parts of the body; as, 1. The external and internal foramina of the cranium or skull. 2. The foramina, in the upper and lower jaw. 3. Foramen lachrymale. 4. Foramen membrane tympani. See ANATOMY.
