GLECHOMA, in botany, a genus belonging to the dynamia gymnosperma class. The calix consists of five segments; and each pair of anthers are disposed in the form of a cross. There are three species, two of which are natives of Britain, viz. the hederacea, or ground-ivy; and the arvensis, or upright ground-ivy. The leaves of the hederacea are corroborant, aperient, and detergent.
