HELICTERES, the SCREW-TREE, in botany, a genus of the gynandria decandria class. It has five styli; the calix consists of one oblique leaf; the petals are five; the nectarium consists of five small leaves; and it has five twisted capsules. There are four species, none of them natives of Britain.
