JAMBOLIFERA, in botany, a genus of the oestrandria monogynia class. The calix has four teeth, and the corolla four funnel-shaped petals; and the stigma is simple. There is but one species, a native of India, IAMBUS, in ancient poetry, a simple foot consisting of a short and a long syllable, as pis.
