KNAUTIA, in botany, a genus of the tetrandria monogynia class. The common calix is oblong, simple, and contains five flowers; the proper calix is simple, and above the fruit; the corollæ are irregular; and the receptacle is naked. There are two species, none of them natives of Britain.
