PENNSYLVANIA, one of the English plantations in America, two hundred miles in length, and almost as much in breadth: situated between $74^\{\backslash circ\}$ and $78^\{\backslash circ\}$ of west longitude, and between $39^\{\backslash circ\}$ and $42^\{\backslash circ\}$ of north latitude: a fine fruitful country, bounded by the five nations of the Iroquois on the north, by New-Jersey and New-York on the east, and by Maryland on the south and west. It is a proprietary government, the heirs of Mr. Penn, a Quaker, who settled this country, appointing the governor.
