PEUCEDANUM, in botany, a genus of the pentandria digynia class. The fruit is oval, streaked on each side, and surrounded with a wing; and the involucrum is very short. There are five species, two of them natives of Britain, viz. the officinale, or hogs-fennel, the root of which is recommended in disorders of the breast; and the minus, or rock-parsley.
