PICRIS, in botany, a genus of the syngenesia polygamia æqualis class. The receptacle is naked: the calix is calciculated; the pappus is feathery; and the seeds are furrowed transversely. There are four species, two of them natives of Britain, viz. the echoides, or ox's tongue; and the hieracioides, or yellow succory.
