PLUKNETIA, in botany, a genus of the monocœcia monadelphia class. Neither the male nor the female have any calix; the corolla of each has four petals; the male has four glandular bearded neccaria; the stylus is filiform; the stigma is peltated; and the capsule has four cells, containing one seed. There is but one species, a native of India.
