SEGUE, in the Italian music, is often found before aria, allattuja, amen, &c. to shew that those portions or parts are to be sung immediately after the last note of that part over which it is writ; but if these words si piace, or ad libitum, are joined therewith, it signifies, that these portions may be sung or not, at pleasure.
