THELEGONUM, in botany, a genus of the monocardia polyandria class. The calix both of male and female consists of two segments; neither of them have any corolla; the stamens are 12; and the female has one stylus, and a coriaceous capsule, with one cell and one seed. There is but one species, a native of Italy.
