TONQUIN, a kingdom of the further India, bounded by the provinces of Yunam and Canton, in China, on the north; by Cochin China, on the south; and by the kingdom of Laos, on the west; lying between 101° and 108° E. long. and between 17° and 26° N. lat. Its capital is Keccio, or Cachao.
