NEPETA, in botany, a genus of the didynamia gymnosperma class. The intermediate lacinium of the inferior lip is crenated; the margin of the faux is reflected; and the stamens are near each other. There are 14 species, only one of which, viz. the cataria, nap, or cat-mint, is a native of Britain.
