ACRITAS, (anc. geogr.) a promontory of Messenia, near Methone, (Ptolemy): running into the sea, and forming the beginning of the bay of Messene. Now called Capo di Gollo, between Methone to the west, and Corone to the east, where the Sinus Coroneus begins.
