BIBRACTE, (anc. geog.), a citadel of the Aedui, according to Strabo; but Cæsar describes it as a town well fortified, very large and populous, and of the greatest authority among that nation. Now Beurest, or Bevray; a desolate place four miles to the north-west of Autun.
