We suppose it is of the same people that Pauciasius Radbertus speaks under the corrupt name of Baccopetite, or Baccionitite, whom he describes as philosophers who had so great a contempt for all earthly things, that they kept nothing but a dish to drink out of; and that
that one of this order seeing a peasant scooping up the water in his hand, threw away his cup as a superfluity: which is nothing but the old story of Diogenes the Cynic.
