CHIROGRAPHER OF FINES, an officer in the common pleas, who engrosses FINES acknowledged in that court, into a perpetual record, (after they have been examined, and passed by other officers;) and writes and delivers the indentures thereof to the party. He makes two indentures; one for the buyer, the other for the seller; and a third indented piece, containing the effect of the fine, and called the foot of the fine; and delivers it to the custos brevium.—The same
