CHRYSOCOMA, goldsy-locks; a genus of the polygamia æqualis order, belonging to the syngenesia class of plants. There are nine species, the most remarkable of which are, the linosyris, the coma aurea, and the cornua. These are herbaceous flowering perennials growing from one to two feet high, ornamented with narrow leaves, and compound floccular flowers of a yellow colour. They are easily propagated by dividing the roots or cuttings; but the two last require to be sheltered in the green-house in winter.
