CICADULA, in natural history, the name given by Mr Ray to a small species of the above, called by Swammerdam locusta pulex, and found in May and June on the stalks and leaves of plants, involved in a spumous white matter, commonly called cuckow-spit, or froth-spit. See FROTH-Spit.
