DUMONT (Francis), a Frenchman; compiler of a general collection of treatises of commerce, alliance, and peace, between the powers of Europe. This collection, with Barbeyrac's, containing the treatises B. C. makes 16 vols. folio, very useful for historical writers. Dumont retired to Holland in 1720. The time of his death is uncertain.
