HAVERFORD-WEST, a town of Pembrokeshire in South Wales, seated in W. Long. 5. N. Lat. 51. 50. It is a town and county of itself; and stands commodiously on the side of a hill, and on a creek of Milford-haven, over which there is a stone bridge. It is a large handsome place, with several good houses, and contains three parish-churches. It has also a considerable trade, with several vessels belonging to it; and sends one member to parliament. The assizes and county-gaol are kept here; and it had once a wall and castle, now demolished.
