HYPERDULIA, in the Romifh theology, is the worfhip rendered to the holy virgin. The word is Greek, υπερδουλία, compofed of υπερ, above, and δουλία, worfhip, fervice. The worfhip offered to faints is called dulia; and that to the mother of God, hyperdulia, as being fuperior to the former.
