GRANADA, New, a province of South America, in Terra Firma, about 75 miles in length, and as much in breadth. It is bounded on the N. by Carthagea and St. Martha, on the E. by Venezuela, on the S. by Popayan, and on the W. by Darien. It contains mines of gold, copper, and iron; horses, mules, good pastures, corn, and fruits. It belongs to the Spaniards, and Santa-Fe-de-Bagota is the capital town.
