GRASS, in botany, &c. a name given to several distinct plants; as the agrostis or couch-grass, the briza or quaking-grass, &c. Under the term grass also are comprehended all manner of herbaceous plants serving for the food of cattle, as clover, rye-grass, &c. See AGRICULTURE, and GRAMINA.
