GUATIMALA, a province of North America, in New Spain, and in the Audience of the same name; bounded on the W. by Soconjuico, on the N. by Veracruz and Honduras, on the E. by Nicaragua, and on the S. by the south sea. St Jago de Guatemala is the capital of the whole audience.
