HAMELIN, a strong town of Germany, in the
duchy of Calenberg in Lower Saxony. It is situated
at the extremity of the duchy of Brunswick, to which
it is the key, near the confluence of the rivers Hamel
and Weser, in E. Long. 9. 55. N. Lat. 52. 13.
