HARBURG, a small town of Germany in the circle of Lower Saxony, and duchy of Lunenburg, seated on the river Elbe over against Hamburg. It was surrounded with walls in 1355; and 30 years after, a strong castle, which still remains, was built by the bishop. E. Long. 9. 41. N. Lat. 53. 51.
