LEMNIUS (Lævinus), a famous physician, born at Ziric-Zee in Zealand, in 1505. He practised physic with applause; and after his wife's death being made priest, became canon of Ziric-Zee, where he died in 1560. He left several esteemed works, the principal of which is entitled De occultis naturæ miraculis.
