KEW, a village of Surrey in England, opposite to Old Brentford, 10 miles west from London. Here is a feat which belonged to the late prince of Wales. Of late years a considerable extent of ground has been taken into the gardens of Kew, which are agreeably laid out in lawns, walks, and groves, embellished with temples, alcoves, and a very lofty brick tower, in the Chinese style of architecture. On Kew-green are a great number of elegant country-houses, belonging to the royal family, and other persons of distinction.
