OGYGIA, (Homer), the island of Calypso; placed by Pliny in the Sinus Scylaceus, in the Ionian sea, opposite to the promontory Lacinium; by Mela in the strait of Sicily, calling it Æce; which others place at the promontory Circeum, and call it the island of Circe.
