SCHWARTENBURG, a town and castle of Ger-
many, and circle of Upper Saxony, in the landgraviate
of Thuringia, and capital of a county of the same
name belonging to a prince of the house of Saxony.
It is seated on the river Schwartz, 20 miles south-east
of Erford, and 35 north of Culmbach. E. Long.
