TRICOCCÆ, (τρίκοκκος "three," and ἄκοκκος "a grain"), the name of the thirty-eighth order in Linnaeus's Fragments of a Natural Method, consisting of plants with a single three-cornered capsule, having three cells, or internal divisions, each containing a single seed. See BOTANY, p. 1313.
