ORDER V. The GALLINÆ, have a convex BILL; the superior mandible is vaulted over the inferior, and the margin of the superior mandible folds over the inferior one: The nostrils are half covered with a convex cartilaginous membrane: The rectrices, or principal quill-feathers of the tail, are always more than 12 in number; and the feet are divided, but connected at the inmost joint.—This order contains 7 genera, viz.
