Besides the use of mercury, there recommended as effectual in this disease, formerly so fatal, a surprising instance of the efficacy of the vapour-bath is given in the 8th volume of the Medical Commentaries. The instance, however, is singular, and the medicine ought to be often repeated with success before much confidence is put in it.
