ATRAPHAXIS: A genus of the digynia order, belonging to the hexandria class of plants; and in the natural method ranking under the 12th order, Heloraceæ. The calyx has two leaves; the petals are two, and sinuated; and there is but one seed. There are two species, both natives of warm countries, but meriting no particular description.
