ANTIDESMA, in botany, a genus of the dicæia order, belonging to the pentandria class of plants. The
calyx of the male is five-leav'd; there is no corolla; the Antidicomarianites are bisid; The female calyx is five-leav'd; the corolla is wanting; the stigma are five; the berry is cylindric and one-seeded. There is but one species, the alexiteria, a native of India.
