ARETIA, in botany: A genus of the pentandria monogynia class; and in the natural method ranking under the 21st order, Pretæa. The corolla is divided into five parts; the tube of the corolla is ovate; and the capsule is globular, and consists of but one cell. There is only one species, viz. the alpina.
